The Power of Performance: The PLA Performance Measures Initiative

April 07, 2016 PLA Conference, Denver, Colorado 10:45 AM

Just as they do on “Dancing with the Stars,” if the public doesn’t like your performance, they vote – usually with their feet. If you are interested in understanding your community by using a simple and straightforward measurement process, come hear from colleagues that have been trained on and implemented a powerful one. Learn what differences it has made in planning services, improving programming, and enhancing connections with their communities.

At the end of this session, participants will:

  1. Learn about participant experiences and the value of performance measurement in planning and decision making.
  2. Hear how the project supports the library's use, implementation, advocacy, and planning efforts.
  3. Discover about participation opportunities.

The session organizer(s) identified this session as appropriate for:

  • Level 2: People with some knowledge, who want to increase their understanding.

This session will have: Medium interaction; single speaker/panel with questions or audience participation throughout

Presenters:

  • Denise Davis, Deputy Director, Sacramento (Ca.) Public Library
